ONTARIO REVEALS DETAILS ABOUT RESTRICTIONS WHEN PROVINCE EXITS STEP 3

As Ontario prepares to move into the next step of reopening, here’s what you need to know about the requirements…

As stated in the article below, the province can move into the next stage of reopening once 80% of Ontario’s eligible population (12 years old +) has received one dose and 75% of the eligible population has received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. As of August 17th 2021, over 80% of the eligible population has received one dose and 74.3% has received their second dose. We’re getting extremely close to being able to move into the next phase of reopening!

Currently in Saugeen First Nation, 68% of our eligible population has received one dose and 58% of our eligible population has received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. While there has been an increase in vaccine uptake in recent weeks, we can see that there is still room for improvement when comparing ourselves to the provincial guidelines.

We would like to thank everyone that has got vaccinated so far – it’s a step in the right direction to keep yourself and your community safe as we move forward together.

For individuals who have questions or concerns about getting the vaccine, please contact the Health Centre at 519-797-3336 or our COVID-19 Safety Coordinator at tara.campbell@saugeen.org.

Stay safe, miigwetch!
