COVID-19 MYTH MONDAY #4!

Aanii SFN community members,

Have you heard the myth that the COVID-19 vaccines contain the SARS-CoV-2 virus?

The truth is that COVID-19 vaccines don’t contain the virus.

Instead, the vaccines contain mRNA (genetic information that cannot alter or incorporate into your own DNA) which resembles the genetic material of SARS-CoV-2.

The mRNA tells your body to create proteins that will boost your immunity.

Once the protein is created, your body will break it down and get rid of it – leaving you with a heightened immune response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the illness known as COVID-19.
